Snow Canyon State Park near St. George was our first hike with the Elderhostel program.  The low evening sun brought out the red sandstone of the formations in this small canyon.  It was our introduction to a week of geology of the region including almost inumerable rock layers, erosion patterns, faults and lava flows.
