China 2005

For our first trip in 2005, we chose a new continent, a different culture and a great adventure - Imperial China, Tibet and the Yangtze conducted by Overseas Adventure Travel.  We flew direct from San Francisco to Beijing, China.  Our destination cities during the tour were Beijing, Xi'an, Chendu, Lhasa and Hong Kong.  We also took an overnight train from Beijing to Xi'an and a three day Yangtze River cruise aboard the Victoria Star.  Our return was direct to San Francisco from Hong Kong.  This trip was so different from any other we have taken, we are still trying to assimilate all the things we learned and did, the places we saw, the cultures we experienced and the vast array of foods we ate.  Whatever our eventual conclusions, this trip will be remembered fondly for our group leader Monica, the many local guides and of course our 14 travelling companions.
