This is a view of the locks which will allow commercial traffic past the dam.  There are ten locks, five
locks in each direction.  Passing through the locks will normally take about three hours, barring of course
any problems with the locks.  On our visit, we were unable to go through the locks because the down-
stream locks were closed with some sort of problem.
