The Friends of Farallone would like to extend an invitation of membership into the Friends of Farallone Parent-Teacher-Association (PTA).

There are many benefits to joining the PTA. For starters, becoming a member adds your voice to our National PTA, which allows for the child advocacy in state and national legislature. In addition, research shows that when parents get involved, children do better at school. The Farallone View PTA has many opportunities for parents to get involved in ways that will benefit parents, children, the school and the community. We can all make a difference, one volunteer hour at a time.

The following is a sample of programs the Friends of Farallone supports with time and resources throughout the year:

• Art classes for 1st-5th grade students
• ORF Music classes
• School wide programs; Oceans Week and Student Assemblies
• Funds for classroom supplies
• Funds for Computer Class, library, and Classroom Literature Clubs
• Organize after school fee based programs including Instrumental Music, Pottery & Science
• School-Parent communication through a school newsletter, web site and PTA meetings
• Parent Education speakers at PTA meetings
• Farallone View spirit with family events, yearbook and school sweatshirts

The cost for these programs in 2005-06 is approximately $(still under review). The PTA raises money through fundraising efforts, direct donations and grants.

Please join us, by becoming a member or renewing your membership today. Parents, teachers, grandparents, and community members are all eligible to join the Friends of Farallone PTA. Dues are $5 per person.
