SDAC
Report
Next
meeting is Monday. There will be a
discussion about Site Plans. They
want to see an alignment of the elementary site plans with Cunha.
The focus of this alignment is directed at technology (computers).
FV kids are receiving more advanced computer skills than the other
schools.
Gate
Report
There
will be a presentation at the next meeting on a parental assessment survey, etc.
The chess group has advanced to the 4th level of an online tournament.
Very exciting!
The
Gate funding request is due before the parental survey will come in.
Mike will request the same funds as last time based on projected
enrollment. A motion was made for
the SSC to approve the Gate funding request ($2414 total).
This motion was approved by the SSC.
Ed.
Fund Report:
$16,000
from the silent auction. $4000 over
last year. Making it earlier,
including teacher led events, and spreading the event out were keys to success.
This success may be offset by Safeway limiting amount of Scrip
allocation. The net amount from
Scrip is up from last year. Costco
stopped doing Scrip which has hurt table sales.
An assessment is being made on how to transfer some of the PTA fundraiser
activities to Ed Fund. That way PTA
can focus more on advocacy, etc.
Principal's
Report
•
We are scrambling to sign up kindergardeners.
Only 28 have signed up. There
is usually about 75 per year. We
need to get the word out to folks to sign up the little ones.
The
state redid the API calculations. FV
will remain an 8 with a 722 ranking. The
similar schools ranking addresses parent education level and free and reduced
lunch levels. Our score was 3.
The governer has a plan to give bonus' to teachers and administrators
that help raise scores of the lower performing schools.
All schools that significantly exceed (by 5%) their growth target will
also receive $50 per ADA. Big
bucks.

The
