CoastWave Wireless

How It Works

CoastWave uses "Wi Fi" (802.11) wireless broadband technology (not satellite) to deliver "always-on" Internet access to your home or office.

After we do a Site Survey to check that you can receive CoastWave Wireless, we will either install an indoor device (shown below, left) or a small device on your roof (like the one shown below, right).

Wireless Client Premise Hardware (CPE)
Why do we have indoor AND outdoor client premise hardware (CPE) shown?
We are currently deploying our wireless infrastructure in two ways: High Density and Low Density.
  • In our High Density deployments the Access Points (APs) that you will connect to are within several hundred feet of your home. Because of the close proximity, a smaller indoor device is suitable for most customers.
  • In our Low Density deployments, the APs are spaced at as much as 2 miles, requiring an outdoor high power antenna and radio to receive a constant high quality signal. The outdoor CPE is very compact and subtle. The box is 6x4x2 inches, weighs under 1 pound and is usually placed under an eve where it is hardly noticeable.

Is one better or less expensive?
The CPE costs are very close and by carefully selecting based on your location we can be sure that the quality of service is exceptional.

With one of these devices installed, you will have high-speed access to the Internet.

As a CoastWave Wireless subscriber, you get FREE access to Wireless Roaming in the CoastWave Hot Zones allowing you to surf the web from a variety of locations up and down the coast.

And you can do it all with NO long term contracts or early termination penalties. We earn your business every day.
