Setting Up Your Dial-up Connection

Changing the Dial-Up Phone Number for Mac OS 8.1 or Earlier

1. Select a local telephone number - Click Here
   
   
2. Older Mac Operating Systems have several different control panels that can be used to connect to the Internet. You may have to search the Control Panels folder to determine which one you are using.
   
   PPP:
   
   a. Click on the "Apple," then select "Control Panels" and then "PPP."
   
   b. Enter the Coastside Net Dial-Up phone number and close the PPP control panel.
   
   FreePPP:
   
   a. Click on the "Apple," then select "Control Panels" and then "FreePPP."
   
   b. Click the "Accounts" tab, select the Coastside Net account and click "Edit."
   
   c. Enter the Coastside Net Dial-Up phone number and click "OK" to save.
   
   Config PPP:
   
   a. Click on the "Apple," then select "Control Panels" and then "Config PPP."
   
   b. Click the "Config" button and enter the new Dial-Up phone number.
   
   c. Click "OK" to save.
